Imagine your smartphone would run with fuel. Before heading out you would have to refill a tank, little clouds of exhaust fumes would accompany you along your way and the noise of an engine would replace your favourite chart hit as ringtone. “Absurd” is what you might and this is what best describes The Mobility House’s attitude towards fossil-fuelled cars. Today’s cars are no longer just a mechanical means of transportation. Instead, they combine multiple technologies to high-tech devices. As such, they should no longer be run with an outdated technology that does not help an inch on the way to eliminate our dependence on fossil fuels. Our answer is: Batteries!
At The Mobility House, we’re passionate about electric mobility and even more about the vision it brings to us. That is the realization of an emissions free future based on leading technology. We want to promote the transition toward sustainable energy and help electric cars to become more competitive by making their batteries play an integral role in the urban energy management. Unlike people might expect these goals complement each other more than well…
Today we face the challenge to make renewable energies such as wind and solar power become more independent from weather conditions and available for use at any time. The batteries in electric cars can help us. A car has the beneficial side effect that it spends most of the day idle, charging and well – being lazy! What if we could make use of this attendant circumstance by aggregating thousands of car batteries to an intelligent swarm and bringing their accumulated storage capacity into action? We at The Mobility House aim to realize what is referred to as Vehicle to Grid technology. In future, electric cars will charge in response to power supply and demand as well as to customers’ driving patterns. As a result, peak demands will be shaved and grid instability reduced. Plus: A remuneration payment for the provision of this service will reduce the overall vehicle costs significantly.
Electric mobility is more than just electric vehicles. It is a way to rethink energy and therefore we will make batteries the driving force behind the rEVolution of mobility.
The Mobility House aims to promote the ’Energiewende’ and facilitate an emissions-free future. With our innovative charging and energy storage solutions, we help electric mobility achieve a breakthrough. Our technologies allow us to integrate electric vehicles into the power grid as an aggregated swarm storage of batteries as well as a stationary storage device from vehicle batteries. The Mobility House was founded in 2009 and supports all leading car manufacturers in over 20 countries throughout the world from its locations in Munich, Zurich and San Francisco.
