ENGIE Executive Vice-President Research, Technology & Innovation
Thierry Lepercq (54) has been Executive Vice-President of Engie, in charge of Research, Technology and Innovation since 2016. He is in charge of Engie’s research labs as well as the Group’s venture capital and incubation activities. He oversees the launch of EngieTech, the Group’s entity dedicated to the development of mass-scale businesses in the field of EnTechs (disruptive business models leveraging on decentralized energy and digital technologies).
He was previously President and co-founder of Solairedirect, a global leader of solar power acquired by Engie in 2015. Solairedirect has developed a distinctive business model focused on making solar power the most competitive energy source, by industrializing the development, construction, financing and operation value chains. The company has operations spanning four continents and over 1 GW built.
Prior to founding Solairedirect Mr Lepercq had a 20-year carrier in technology finance, first with Bankers Trust in New York, and later with Banque Arjil (Lagardère Group) and Oddo & Cie. In 1999 he founded NetsCapital, a boutique investment bank focused on information technology which structured 40 transactions for a total of 400 M€. In 2004, Thierry Lepercq set up Réseau Innovation Energie, a think tank with such participants as Caisse des Dépôts, Suez, EDF and Gaz de France. He is a graduate of HEC (Paris).
